Language Island is operated by SwiftSpark, LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Language Island.
Information we collect
We collect:
- Account information: email address and authentication identifiers when you sign in.
- Generated content: the source phrases you submit and the translations, audio, and grammar generated for you. These are stored in your library for your use.
- Usage data: device type, app version, anonymized analytics events (PostHog) to help us improve the product.
How we use it
- To provide the core product — translation, audio, grammar, library, review.
- To improve the product through aggregate analytics.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect abuse and protect the service.
Third-party services
We use the following third parties to operate the product:
- Supabase — authentication and data storage.
- Alibaba Cloud (Qwen3-TTS-Flash) — text-to-speech audio generation.
- Anthropic / OpenAI — translation and grammar generation.
- PostHog — anonymized product analytics.
Data retention
We retain your account and library data for as long as your account is active, unless you request deletion.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account, or opt out of analytics by emailing [email protected]. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. See /account-deletion for the request form.
Children
Language Island is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app and on this page.
